Winning the Next War: Innovation and the Modern Military
As we continue to Accelerate Change to the Air Force our Nation needs, we must be mindful of organizational lessons from the past. Historical analysis allows us to synthesize patterns in the character of warfare and incorporate them into our future Air Force design through initiatives like Action Order D and the Operational Imperatives. In Winning the Next War: Innovation and the Modern Military, Stephen Rosen analyzes military and technological innovations during war and peacetime and offers prescriptions for managing uncertainty. Lincoln on Leadership: Executive Strategies for Tough Times
Lincoln on Leadership is the first book to examine Abraham Lincoln's diverse leadership abilities and how they can be applied to today's complex world. Only ten days before Abraham Lincoln took the oath of office in 1861, the Confederate States of America seceded from the Union, taking all Federal agencies, forts, and arenas within their territory. To make matters worse, Lincoln, who was elected by a minority of the popular vote, was thought of by his own advisors as nothing more than a gawky second-rate country lawyer with no leadership experience. Air Force 75th Anniversary Poster: First Unmanned Flight - 2010s era
The MQ-1 Predator poster is the eighth poster in the U.S. Air Force 75th Anniversary series and represents the 2010s era. The MQ-1 Predator completed its first unmanned flight and participation in its first humanitarian mission supporting the earthquake relief effort in Haiti, Jan. 27, 2010. The MQ-1 Predator is a system, not just an aircraft. A fully operational system consists of four aircraft (with sensors), a ground control station, a Predator Primary Satellite Link, and approximately 55 personnel for deployed 24-hour operations. Innovation remains an integral part of how the Air Force trains and employs its squadrons, develops capabilities, and moves toward an even more effective Air Force. ACC begins fielding tools to analyze, protect base EMS
Air Combat Command’s Cyberspace and Information Dominance directorate conducted a successful pilot test of spectrum monitoring kits in 2021 at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va. These kits give installations the capability to analyze and protect the electromagnetic environment inside their gates. Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., and Seymour Johnson AFB, N.C., are scheduled to receive their kits this spring. ACC plans to provide all its bases this capability as funding allows.
