John C. Meyer, by Willie Jones, Jr., was one of the highest scoring American aces in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. He scored 24 air-to-air and 13 ground kills. He also server during the Korea War flying a F-86 Sabre Jet. He shot down 2 MiG-15 Russia built jet fighters. John C. Meyer eventually rose to the rank of four-star General and commander of Strategic Air Command.
