Airman's Roll Call: Summer Safety

  • Published
This week's Airman's Roll Call focuses on the 101 critical days of summer, the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Summer safety is important to the Air Force and its members. From 1997 to 2008, an average of 24 Airmen were lost each summer. Last year, 17 Airmen were fatally injured.

Air Force safety officials remind Airmen to make safety a habit, and always wear a seatbelt. Also, Airmen are encouraged to think twice before engaging in any activity that might pose a risk.

For more information about summer safety, visit your local safety office, visit the Air Force Safety Center's portal page and read this week's Airman's Roll Call.

Airman's Roll Call is designed for supervisors at all levels to help keep Airmen informed on current issues, clear up confusion, dispel rumors and provide additional face-to-face communication.
