Predator crashes in eastern Afghanistan Published May 8, 2009 SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFNS) -- An Air Force MQ-1 Predator unmanned Aircraft crashed in eastern Afghanistan May 8 in the early afternoon hours. The crash was not due to hostile fire, and there were no injuries or damage to property as a result of the crash. The aircraft is a medium-altitude, long-endurance, remotely piloted aircraft. The Predator's primary mission is conducting armed reconnaissance. A board will be convened to investigate the incident.
