New GPS-guided airdrops aid aircrew accuracy
A standard Container Delivery System bundle falls to the ground March 15 at Gowen Field near Boise, Idaho. The Joint Precision Airdrop System, using Global Positioning System, or GPS, increases accuracy from safer, further distances. An Air Mobility Command mobile training team from Scott Air Force Base, Ill., came here to train C-130 Hercules aircrews from the Idaho, Kentucky, Georgia and New York Air National Guard on the new system recently.
