Capt. Rhonda McDaniel of the 45th Space Wing, was found guilty of conspiring with two other Air Force members to cheat on the Weighted Airmen Promotion System test by wrongfully possessing and giving the contents of the controlled test materials to other Air Force members. She was sentenced to dismissal from the Air Force.

Captain McDaniel, who was a technical sergeant at the time the offenses occurred, was among a number of Airmen across the Air Force implicated in the possible compromise of WAPS testing material.

The implications stemmed from an investigation by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations at Rhein-Main Air Base, Germany, that an Air Force senior NCO assigned as a test examiner provided testing material to another enlisted member.

Captain McDaniel had pled not guilty to the offenses she was convicted of.  The investigation revealed a widespread system of cooperation among numerous individuals to compromise test materials.

Airmen's scores from the WAPS test are a key factor in determining promotions for enlisted members of the Air Force.
