Lackland honors nine enlisted heroes
The first and current Chief Master Sergeants of the Air Force, Paul W. Airey and Gerald R. Murray, view a photographic memorial dedicated to Chief Airey at the Airey Processing Center at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, on Wednesday, June 14. The building, formerly the 319th Processing Center, was one of nine training facilities dedicated to nine enlisted Air Force heroes who have served from World War II to present-day operations in the war on terrorism. The ceremony was part of a three-day event to honor the 60th anniversary of basic military training. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. D. Scott Wagers)
