Putting a chokehold on mold

  • Published
Staff Sgt. Richard P. Zolnowski III, a heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technician, checks the inside of an air conditioning duct for mold and excessive wear. The technician and his co-workers are replacing the worn plenums in airmen's sleeping quarters to sustain good air quality. Plenums are magnets for condensation and over time can attract mold growth which can cause health problems. Zolnowski is assigned to the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing at a forward-deployed location supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. (Photo by Tech. Sgt. Melissa Phillips)
