Injury: Left hand amputation, 3 finger amputations to right hand

Personal Profile:

TSgt Leonard Anderson enlisted into the Air Force in July 2002 as a Security Forces member. In May 2006, he retrained to become a Military Working Dog Handler (MWD). During a joint service mission with the Army, TSgt Anderson and his MWD Azza were struck with an IED while on foot. He was medevac’d to San Antonio Military Medical Center where he continues his recovery. TSgt Anderson is currently assigned to the 59th Patient Squadron at Lackland AFB, Texas and currently works in the Air Force Wounded Warrior Program.
