New Airman Magazine edition out now Published Oct. 31, 2014 FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, Md. (AFNS) -- The November issue of Airman magazine is now available to download and viewable through a Web browser. Our cover story, titled “Making Airmen,” tells the story of how Tech. Sgt. Chananya Stuart, a native of the Virgin Islands, grooms trainees into Air Force warriors within eight short weeks. The print and photo story take you behind the scenes of what goes into making an Airman. Also featured in this issue is the transformation that takes place in high school-aged teenagers when they take part in a one-week glider academy with the Civil Air Patrol. Arriving with little to no flight instruction, these young cadets successfully pilot a glider aircraft within one week of arriving. Lastly featured is the journey of Tech. Sgt. Todd Houghton to become the Air Force’s first champion in the service's inaugural High Flying BBQ Challenge. For this aircraft structural mechanic, there is no finer taste than that of success.
