The 2016 Department of Defense Warrior Games, an adaptive sports competition for wounded, ill and injured service members and veterans, will take place June 15-21 in West Point, New York.

About 250 athletes on teams representing the Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Coast Guard, Air Force, U.S. Special Operations Command and the U.K. armed forces will participate in eight sporting events. The competition highlights the resiliency and warrior spirit the service members and veterans, as well as their families and caregivers, exhibit. Adaptive sports and athletic reconditioning activities can play a fundamental role in service members’ and veterans’ successful recovery.
