  • DHA provides KMC Labor and Delivery Clinic manning assist

Every month Keesler Medical Center’s Labor and Delivery Clinic averages approximately 35 births. However, last year the clinic experienced a manning shortage that began to impact their ability to take care of families.
  • MacDill AFB provides wounded warriors unique treatment

To minimize the impact of traumatic injuries, the dermatology office from the 6th Medical Group at MacDill Air Force Base offers a variety of treatments for those who suffer from scarring as a result of blast injuries, burns, amputations and other surgeries.
  • Tactical Combat Casualty Care: A new standard of trauma care training

MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, plays host to several Tactical Combat Casualty Care for Medical Personnel courses throughout the year.
  • Aeromedical evacuation crews provide medical transport in Pacific region

It’s a Sunday morning on Travis Air Force Base, California, and a flightline normally buzzing with activity is unusually void of the sounds expected from the busiest military air terminal in the U.S.
  • Aeromedical technician treats St. Croix patients, experiences first humanitarian mission

Staff Sgt. April Cooper, an aeromedical evacuation technician at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, had just returned from Little Rock AFB, Arkansas, after providing support for Hurricane Harvey. Knowing Hurricane Maria was about to make landfall, she left her bags right by her front door. She was still on bravo alert and knew when Maria hit, AE support would be needed quickly. This second mission lasted three weeks at MacDill AFB, Florida, compared to her five day mission at Little Rock AFB. Her time in Arkansas helped prepare her for the mission of multiple flights to St. Croix.
  • Heart to heart: AF steps up to help Airman’s family

Five days after their baby was born in 2011, they realized something was wrong. When they took her back to the hospital, they found out they were in for a long, rough road ahead. “They quickly rushed us over to the neonatal intensive care unit, and we met with a cardiologist who said that my daughter has hypoplastic left heart syndrome, which essentially means that the left side of her heart never formed and never will,” said Lt. Col. Kevin White, 344th Air Refueling Squadron director of operations, who was then a captain stationed at McConnell Air Force Base.
  • The show must go on

Butterflies begin to invade their stomachs as they step foot on the battered floor. The smell of painted wood fills their nose and the heat of the spotlight touches their skin like a tanning bed. A geyser of adrenaline shoots through their body increasing their heart rate to an all-time high. The show is about to start and the actors and actresses can’t help but feel nervous, except for one individual among them.
