Panjshir PRT
Panjshir Provincial Reconstruction Team commander Lt. Col. Christopher Luedtke looks over a weapons cache Aug. 5 with district police chief Khalil Rhman. The cache was uncovered during recent flooding in the province's Dara district on the site of a medical center expansion project. Colonel Luedtke was in Dara to meet the new police chief and discuss security concerns in the strategically important district. The police chief took control of the weapons cache after it was uncovered and assured the PRT commander the weapons would be safely disposed of. Colonel Luedtke is deployed from Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Since its inception in 2005, the PRT has coordinated with the Panjshir government on more than $30 million in development projects, including a paved road and bridge infrastructure, new schools and government centers, a radio broadcasting system and a printing press.
