C-130s leaving Alaska
Lt. Col. Gary Gottschall performs a preflight inspection of his C-130 Hercules at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, March 23 prior to its final flight. After 43 years of continuous service in Alaska, the flight will mark the end of the C-130 era at Elmendorf. Airmen there soon will see C-17 Globemaster IIIs taking over the airlift mission.
