Ramstein's north airstrip receives makeover
A C-17 Globemaster III lifts off from the south runway as construction continues on the north runway at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, on July 28. The north runway will be extended 1,000 feet, allowing heavy air transports to take off fully loaded. The work began in mid-April and is one week ahead of the Jan. 1 completion date.
