Hunting or hidden damage

Staff Sgt. Josette Francis places a sample of jet engine oil into a spectrometer to check for contaminating elements or metal fragments which could cause engine damage May 14 at an air base in Southwest Asia. The oil sample is being checked as part of the Joint Oil Analysis Program that tests oil samples from various locations in the U.S. Central Command's area of responsibility. Sergeant Francis is an inspector with 379th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron's non-destructive inspection, and is deployed from Aviano Air Base, Italy.
