    Exhibiting their military might, three nations teamed up for a Combat Air Forces large force employment exercise iteration of Cope North 2020 at Andersen Air Force Base and around the CNMI, Palau, and Yap in the Federated States of Micronesia Feb. 12-28.

    Together, the United States Air Force and Navy, Japan Air Self-Defense Force, and Royal Australian air force raced against the clock in a realistic exercise scenario to save 24 patients from a bus rollover. They worked alongside Guam’s Army National Guard and local police and emergency medical personnel during integrated medical, air and ground operations.

  • Breaking tradition: airborne sensor operator makes history

    Staff Sgt. Propst is the Air Force’s first E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning And Control System, or AWACS, enlisted airborne sensor operator and is enhancing the 961st AACS’s capabilities at exercise Cope North 2020, an annual trilateral field exercise conducted in Guam, and around the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Palau and Yap in the Federated States of Micronesia.
  • US, Japanese, Australian forces train together during Pacific Defender 20-1

    Pacific Defender 20-1, which was hosted by the 736th Security Forces Squadron Commando Warrior flight, is the first in a region-wide series of security forces-centric exercises and subject matter expert exchanges scheduled for this year. The U.S. Pacific Air Forces-sponsored events bring together security forces personnel and key leaders from various Indo-Pacific nations to exchange knowledge through a week of demonstrations and hands-on practice, culminating in a two-day field application where participants put their new skills to the test.

Nassem Ghandour, the 554th RHS engineering flight deputy commander, was recognized through the Every Dollar Counts program after he saved the Air Force more than $235,000.

  • Search continues for missing Airman in Guam

    An Airman who has been missing since Dec. 1 has been identified as Airman Alec M. Dye. Dye was deployed to Andersen Air Force Base from the 2nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, and was last seen near Tarague Beach, Guam.
  • Save the sea turtles: Airmen team with local university to conserve species

    Airmen here have partnered with a scientific research team from the University of Guam, or UOG, to help make the base's beaches cleaner and greener -- with turtles -- by participating in the sea turtle monitoring, protection and educational outreach program on Guam.
  • Kadena squadrons relocate to Guam for training
