  • 330 Navy civilian employees transfer to the Air Force

    On Nov. 9, 2020, military senior leaders signed a Joint Base Memorandum of Agreement to change the joint region construct returning selected 18 of 44 installation support functions to the Air Force at Andersen AFB.

  • Scott AFB’s innovation hub receives Air Force lab designation

    Scott Air Force Base’s innovation hub, Elevate, received Air Force approval to be designated a defense laboratory, Jan. 6. The approval marks Scott AFB as the first Air Force innovation cell to become an official defense lab for technology transfer purposes.

  • Changes to Post-9/11 GI Bill transfers effective July 2019

    The transferability option under the Post-9/11 GI Bill allows service members to transfer all or some unused benefits to their spouse or dependent children. The request to transfer unused GI Bill benefits to eligible dependents must be completed while serving as an active member of the Armed Forces.

  • JB Charleston trains ANG to be globemasters

    The first of four C-17 Globemaster IIIs was transferred from Joint Base Charleston to the Charlotte Air National Guard, N.C. April 7, 2018 as part of a congressional mandate.Through this directive Joint base Charleston will send 16 C-17s to four Air National Guard bases.
