Lieutenant General JOHN D. LAMONTAGNE

Lt. Gen. John D. Lamontagne is the Deputy Commander, United States Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces Africa, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. As the air component to U.S. European Command and U.S. Africa Command, USAFE-AFAFRICA is responsible for providing full-spectrum war fighting capabilities to both combatant commanders throughout their area of responsibility, which encompasses 104 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Arctic and the Atlantic Ocean.

Prior to assuming his current position, General Lamontagne served as the Chief of Staff at U.S. European Command. He previously held command positions at the squadron, group, wing, and air operations center levels.
