Officials select officers for developmental education

Boards here selected more than 300 company-grade officers from 14 career fields to attend developmental education programs beginning in the summer, Air Force Personnel Center officials announced Nov. 1.

The development team special program selection and Air Force Institute of Technology boards considered officers from various career fields for developmental assignments and Air Force-sponsored advanced academic degree programs.

"Being selected to attend any developmental program is a great opportunity for these young officers," said Col. Lee Hall, director of assignments at AFPC. "This group is among the first company-grade officers selected for these competitive development programs under the new force development initiative."

Development and assignment teams use each officer's development plan to understand both the officer's and commander's desires about the next best developmental assignment and future career plans. Assignment teams match officers to the right developmental opportunity at the right time in their careers based on the needs of the career field and guidance from their development team, Colonel Hall said.

A complete list of Airmen selected can be found at www.afpc.randolph.af.mil/acquis/. Additional advanced academic degree opportunities may become available and all alternates should monitor the Web site for updates. Assignment teams will individually notify alternatives if selected for additional opportunities that become available, Colonel Hall said.
