AFSOC, PACAF welcome new commanders

Airmen from two Air Force major commands welcomed new commanders July 1 and 2.

Maj. Gen. Michael W. Wooley assumed command of Air Force Special Operations Command during a ceremony at Hurlburt Field, Fla., on July 1, and Lt. Gen. Paul V. Hester assumed command of Pacific Air Forces during a ceremony at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, on July 2. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. John P. Jumper presided over both ceremonies.

General Wooley, who replaced General Hester, will also lead the Air Force component of U.S. Special Operations Command, and General Hester will also lead the air component for U.S. Pacific Command.
