Coalition repels attack

Coalition special operations forces and Afghan militia forces repelled an attack Aug. 25, with no coalition casualties and leaving more than 14 enemy dead.

The attack occurred in the vicinity of Tarin Kowt in the Kandahar Province with enemy forces using small arms and rocket-propelled grenades.

Coalition forces responded to the enemy fire with ground and air assets including Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft.

Coalition aircraft engaged the enemy forces with laser-guided munitions.
