C-40 Engine Operator’s Course
Master Sgt. Jennifer Glaspell instructs Tech Sgt. Dan Durbin and Tech. Sgt. Lindsey Bailey on how to set up the flight deck in preparation for the engine run during the C-40 Engine Operator’s Course at Scott Air Force Base, Ill., Feb. 25, 2014. Durbin used the navigation display to create a visual indication of the wind direction. Taking off facing the wind helps reduce the aircraft’s speed over the ground, reducing the distance required to do that maneuver. Durbin and Bailey are students in the 932nd Maintenance Group C-40 EOC class. Glaspell is the aircraft maintenance instructor. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Maria Bowman)
