Black Engineer of the Year Awards
Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz gives the keynote address on Feb. 19, 2010, at the 5th Stars and Stripes tribute dinner, which is part of the 24th Annual Black Engineer of the Year Awards Conference being held Feb. 18 to 20 in Baltimore. This year's tribute dinner's theme is Saluting the Role of Our Military. The conference seeks to recognize a growing cadre of diverse professionals who are contributing to America's competitiveness and serving as role models to historically underrepresented groups in the sciences. General Schwartz emphasized that in order to maintain the world's best Air and Space force it is imperative to attract, recruit, train and retain the skilled scientists and engineers needed to create tomorrow's aerospace leaders.
