Head AF leaders visit Kadena Airmen
Capt. Michael Kingry explains a 320-mile rescue mission to Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark A. Welsh III and the audience during an Airman’s call Aug. 21, 2013, at Kadena Air Base, Japan. Five members of the 33rd Rescue Squadron were awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with valor for their service during a mission in which they were under direct enemy fire and rescued critically wounded coalition soldiers during a deployment in 2012.
