Just after sunset, a blue-suited orchestra begins a selection from the 1985 Western, “Silverado,” as three towering silver spires reflect the city’s skyline -- a setting that kicked off the U.S. Air Force Band Summer Concert Series, which runs from May 29 through Sept. 11.

An Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus soldier provides an honor guard as 34 Airmen from the U.S. Air Forces in Europe Band march in the World War II Victory Day Parade May 9, 2015, in Minsk, Belarus. The band's involvement is the first time in Belarus' history that participants from the U.S. Defense Department marched in the parade. The event commemorated the sacrifices of the World War II Allies and the end of hostilities 70 years ago. Dressed in holiday style the U.S. Air Force Band performed Dec. 15 at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Udvar-Hazy Center, Chantilly, Va., as part of their holiday concert series. Visitors lined the railings and the floor around the stage as the band performed holiday classics along with their own renditions, bringing in audience participation.
