    Air Force officials have released the 2017 Air Force Handbook 1, Airman and the Enlisted Promotions Study Guides. AFH-1 is available at http://static.epublishing.af.mil/production/1/af_a1/publication/afhandbook1/afhandbook1.pdf and also on every Airman’s government computer desktop.   • AF expands Career Intermission Program opportunities

    The Air Force has changed the Career Intermission Program to expand participation opportunities for Airmen from one application window each year to three. In addition, Airmen with humanitarian circumstances may submit out-of-cycle CIP applications, as can dual-military married Airmen when a join spouse assignment cannot be supported, provided they meet CIP eligibility criteria. If desired, the Air Force Personnel Center will expedite the CIP application.

  • JET/IA Airmen connect blue line back to AF

    The 387th Air Expeditionary Squadron is a small unit. With about 10 assigned staff, and 20 quick-response aerial port Airmen, they have a small footprint. Their reach, however, is far more expansive than meets the eye. They have the responsibility of providing all levels of administrative support to about 390 joint expeditionary task and individual augmentee Airmen, bearing 72 Air Force specialty codes, and forward deployed to 11 countries.

    Air Force officials have selected 14,181 senior airmen for promotion to staff sergeant out of 32,006 eligible, a selection rate of 44.31 percent. The staff sergeant promotion list will be available on the Air Force Portal and myPers Aug. 24, at 8 a.m. CDT. Airmen will also be able to access their score notices on the virtual Military Personnel
  • Technical sergeant 17E6 promotion cycle statistics released

    The Air Force has selected 8,167 staff sergeants for promotion to technical sergeant out of 25,552 eligible, for a selection rate of 31.96 percent in the 17E6 promotion cycle.
  • Some medically separated Airmen can have their disability ratings reviewed

    Airmen who were medically separated between Sept. 11, 2001 and Dec. 31, 2009, can have their disability ratings reviewed. Airmen medically separated with a combined disability rating of 20 percent or less and who received separation pay versus medical retirement may request a Physical Disability Board of Review.
