AFIMSC civilian honored for heroism
Greg Gangnuss, a civilian member of the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, was on a voluntary deployment to Afghanistan as a senior environmental adviser for the Ministry of Defense Advisor Program when a helicopter carrying nine coalition members crashed after striking a cable while landing at the NATO Resolute Support Mission headquarters in Kabul Oct. 11, 2015, killing five people on board. Gangnuss helped rescue four, including Col. Laurel Burkel.

Contractors work with the 375th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron to help move a C-130 fuselage trainer (FuT), Feb. 23, 2017 at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. The FuT allows for hands-on muscle memory of configuration, placement of in-flight kits, electrical, oxygen, emergency exits, etc. One hundred percent of readiness skills are completed for the Aeromedical Evacuation Technicians. It helps provide an innovative, cost effective, improved training platform for total force AE crew members and ground support personnel in terms of aircraft configuration familiarization and realistic, high-fidelity task training and mission simulation. Scott Air Force Base Airmen recently began using a new ground aeromedical evacuation (AE) fuselage trainer (FuT) here. Through coordination with Air Mobility Command, the 375th Air Mobility Wing secured a C-130H Hercules aircraft that was scheduled for decommissioning from Little Rock AFB, Arkansas in 2016. The C-130 is the primary aircraft for this squadron and performs a large amount of patient evacuations while downrange, said Maj. Mark Hassett, the 375th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron operations flight commander.

Default Air Force Logo AMC achieves electronic flight bags milestone
Air Mobility Command recently achieved a milestone with its electronic flight bag initiative. “All AMC wings are now approved to use electronic flight bags,” said Richard Quidgeon, the AMC electronic flight bag requirements manager. EFBs are portable electronic devices that consolidate nearly 120 pounds of paper products into a single tablet.
