The U.S. Air Force’s two-week premier air-to-air combat training exercise Red Flag 17-2 began Feb. 27, 2017 and will conclude March 10. Held multiple times each year on the vast bombing and gunnery ranges of the 2.9 million acre Nevada Test and Training Range, Red Flag is a realistic combat training exercise involving the air forces of the United States, its allies and coalition partners, and is one of the Air Force’s largest exercises.

903rd AEF to hold 50th anniversary
Original members of the 903rd Aeromedical Evacuation Flight will gather at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, in May, 2017, to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Established in February, 1967, the 903rd AEF was the first Air Force tactical aeromedical unit used in a combat area.

Aeromedical evacuation airmen from the U.S., Japanese and Australian air forces transport a simulated patient to a U.S. Air Force C-12 Huron as part of annual exercise Cope North Feb. 21, 2017, at Tinian Air Field, Mariana Islands. Aerial porters can often appear to be flightline fortune tellers. They can gauge the intensity of ongoing war efforts through the amount and types of items that come across their cargo yard, everything from vehicles to missiles. As the battle against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant continues to heat up, aerial porters work hard to keep supplies moving downrange, especially munitions such as rockets for High-Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems.
