Fairchild AFB Airman remains missing

4/5/2012 - FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. (AFNS) -- Airman 1st Class James Adam Lassiter, a student assigned to the 336th Training Group, remains missing since March 31 after departing for a canoe trip on the Spokane River.

The 36th Rescue Flight here aided local authorities with helicopter support in the search for the missing Airman.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out for James, his family and friends during this difficult time," said Col. Paul Guemmer, 92nd Air Refueling Wing commander. "We will continue assisting local authorities in the search for James."

Lassiter was reported missing through the 92nd Security Forces Squadron to the Spokane Sheriff's department April 2 when he did not arrive to work.

Just a note to the PA here the title makes this release sound like the Airman's remains are missing. Not that he is still missing. Praying that he is found safely
