6/7/2012 - HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. (AFNS) -- A staff sergeant assigned to Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., was killed in a motorcycle accident six miles north of Timberon, N.M., May 27 at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Staff Sgt. Jamaa Zachry, 27, was a 49th Maintenance Squadron aerospace ground equipment journeyman from Wichita Falls, Texas.

He joined the Air Force in March 2006, and arrived at Holloman AFB in November 2009.

"It is deeply saddening for me to have to report the death of a member of Team Holloman," said Col. David Krumm, the 49th Wing commander. "Staff Sergeant Zachry will be sincerely missed, and I hope that you keep the Zachry family, their friends and co-workers in your thoughts and prayers."

Zachry is survived by his mother, brother and daughter. A memorial service was held for May 31 at the base chapel.
