Laughlin AFB civilian dies in motorcycle accident

6/11/2012 - LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFNS) -- A civilian employee with the 47th Maintenance Directorate here was killed in a motorcycle accident in Del Rio, Texas, June 11 at about 6:45 a.m.

The name of the deceased is being withheld until 24 hours after next-of-kin are notified.

"My deepest condolences go out to the family, friends and coworkers of this Team XL member," said Col. Tom Murphy, the 47th Flying Training Wing commander. "Every member of our team plays an important role in accomplishing the wing's mission, and I am dedicated to supporting his loved ones during this difficult time. His family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."

The accident is under investigation by the Del Rio Police Department.
