XF-91 Thunderceptor
XF-91 high-speed experimental interceptor, rocket-powered combat-type to fly faster than the speed of sound, unusual design features--taper wing, high angle of attack for takeoff, landing and low angle of attack for high-speed flight, landing gear that retracted outward with the tandam wheels and a rocket engine that augmented the standard jet engine to provide an outstanding rate of climb.
