Air Force officials release officer promotions

The 2009A Line of the Air Force, Biomedical Science Corps and Nurse Corps Central Selection boards selected 466 lieutenant colonels, 92 majors and 271 captains for promotion June 24 here.

The boards considered 4,156 lieutenant colonels, 729 majors and 407 captains for promotion. 

The results of the boards for colonel are as follows:
-- Selection statistics for in-the-promotion zone for line of the Air Force were 372 selected from 846 considered for a 44 percent selection rate.
-- Selection statistics for above-the-promotion zone for line of the Air Force were 25 selected from 901 considered for a 2.8 percent selection rate.
-- Selection statistics for below-the-promotion zone for line of the Air Force were 69 selected from 2,409 considered for a 2.9 percent selection rate. 

The results of the boards for in-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel are as follows:
-- 45 nurse corps officers were selected from 74 considered for a 60.8 percent selection rate.
-- 35 biomedical sciences corps officers were selected for a 57.4 percent selection rate.

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel are:
-- two nurse corps officers were selected from 100 considered for a 2 percent selection rate.
-- three biomedical sciences corps officers were selected from 128 considered for a 2.3 percent selection rate.

Selection statistics below-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel are:
-- five nurse corps officers were selected from 204 considered for a 2.5 percent selection rate.
-- two biomedical sciences corps officers were selected from 162 considered for a 1.2 percent selection rate.

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone for major are: 
-- 112 nurse corps officers were selected from 145 considered for a 77.2 percent selection rate.
-- 137 biomedical sciences corps officers were selected from 155 considered for a 88.4 percent selection rate.

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for major are: 
-- 19 nurse corps officers were selected from 92 considered for a 20.7 percent selection rate.
-- three biomedical sciences corps officers were selected from 15 considered for a 20 percent selection rate.
