Airborne staff connects ground forces
Senior Airman Raymond Felix checks over his communications gear before taking off on a Joint Airborne Battle Staff mission over Iraq. While they fly, joint service battle staff members monitor several radio channels at a time, listening in on coalition convoys on the ground and relaying radio calls when necessary, ranging from routine radio checks to medical evacuation requests.
