OSI will open an investigation into every unrestricted report of sexual assault within their jurisdiction and provide their report of investigation to the accused perpetrator's commander and staff judge advocate. A SARC or SAPR victim advocate will help you obtain support services such as medical and mental health, special victim's counsel or spiritual. If you file an unrestricted report, you may also request a protective order or an expedited transfer out of your unit to another unit on base or to a different base entirely.
Although your report is unrestricted, release of information from your report will be limited to protect your privacy and only the minimal amount of information necessary will be shared only with individuals with a need to know.
