Pilot burial solves two mysteries

Barbara Rowland receives the flag from Capt. Rick Kimberlin on Saturday, April 8, 2006, during a memorial service for her uncle, 2nd Lt. Robert Hoyle Upchurch. The lieutenant, a member of the famed Flying Tigers during World War II, was listed as missing in action after his P-40 Warhawk crashed during bad weather. The Upchurch family designated Ms. Rowland as the closest next of kin able to attend the ceremony. Captain Kimberlin is assigned to Fort Bragg, N.C. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Jack Braden)
