The Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) develops and sustains a highly qualified acquisition workforce through integrated management of professional certification, continuous learning, workforce education, leadership development, and career progression.
APDP supports workforce members throughout their acquisition careers by establishing standards for professional certification, providing guidance on workforce policies, and connecting acquisition professionals with training and development opportunities necessary to meet current and future mission requirements.
The program implements Department of War certification requirements and provides guidance for workforce members to satisfy mandatory education, training, and experience requirements associated with acquisition positions.
APDP also oversees the Department's Continuous Learning Program, ensuring acquisition professionals maintain current knowledge and competencies throughout their careers.
