Brig. Gen. Jeffrey R. McDaniels is the Director of Air and Cyberspace Operations, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. He is responsible for ensuring PACAF provides ready air, space, and cyber power to promote U.S. interests in the Asia-Pacific region during peacetime, through crisis and in war. In this capacity, General McDaniels oversees operations for three numbered air forces and 10 wings. In addition, he executes duties as a joint task force commander, expeditionary numbered air force commander and a joint force air component commander in support of U.S. Pacific Command taskings.
General McDaniels was commissioned in 1987 as a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. He earned his pilot wings as a distinguished graduate of Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot training in 1988. He has served in multiple operational, command and staff assignments. He has commanded the 47th Flying Training Wing, Laughlin AFB, Texas, 27th Operations Group, Cannon AFB, N.M., and the 310th Fighter Squadron, Luke AFB, Ariz. His staff assignments include Deputy Director for Operations, Joint Chiefs of Staff; Director of Air Operations, Headquarters Air Force; Chief of Forces Division, Joint Chiefs of Staff; Chief of Operations for the Chief of Staff’ of the Air Force’s Executive Action Group; and F-22A Program Manager on the Air Staff.
General McDaniels is a command pilot with more than 3,200 hours in the F-16, including more than 400 hours of combat time.
