BRIGADIER GENERAL BRIAN T. KELLY

Selected for promotion to major general 

Brig. Gen. Brian T. Kelly is the Director of Military Force Management Policy, Deputy Chief of Staff for Manpower, Personnel and Services, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. He is responsible for establishing force management policies for more than 500,000 Air Force military personnel. These policies guide the accession, assignment, evaluation, skills analysis and management, promotion, readiness, retraining, separation and retirement of the Air Force's human capital. His office also oversees aspects of total force management to include contingency, mobilization, training management, and rated force policy.

General Kelly entered the Air Force in 1989 as a graduate of the University of Notre Dame’s Reserve Officer Training Corps program.  He has held several command and staff positions at the base, major command, Air Staff, and Joint Staff level.  His command tours include a Mission Support Squadron, Mission Support Group, and the 501st Combat Support Wing at Royal Air Force Alconbury, England.    

Prior to his current assignment, General Kelly served as the Director of Manpower, Personnel, and Services, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Langley Air Force Base, Virginia.
