BRIGADIER GENERAL GREGORY M. GUTTERMAN

Brig. Gen. Gregory M. Gutterman is the Director, Air Force Security Assistance and Cooperation Directorate, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He leads a directorate charged with providing security assistance and cooperation to international partners through foreign military sales. As Director, General Gutterman is Headquarters AFMC’s focal point for administering the Air Force’s $161 billion security assistance budget supporting foreign military sales to 108 countries, operating more than 6,700 aircraft and other weapon systems. He develops and executes international agreements and manages the command’s international affairs and foreign disclosure policies.

General Gutterman was commissioned in 1989 as a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, and began his career as an ICBM technical engineer in the 321st Strategic Missile Wing, Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota. He then transitioned into the program management profession and has held a variety of assignments including F-22 and Reconnaissance Program Offices, an Air Logistics Center and two Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition assignments at the Pentagon. His previous command experience includes Commander, 682nd Armaments Systems Squadron at Eglin AFB, Florida, Commander, 554th Electronic Systems Group and Director, F-22 Senior Materiel Leader (wing commander equivalent) at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. General Gutterman is an Acquisition Corps member with 28 years engineering and acquisition experience. His APDP certifications include Program Management, Acquisition Logistics, and Engineering.

Prior to his current assignment, General Gutterman was the Director of Strategic Plans, Programs and Analyses, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
