Brig. Gen. Christian G. Funk is Deputy Director, Strategy, Concepts and Assessments, Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Plans and Requirements, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon, Arlington, Va. He assists with developing and synchronizing Air Force strategy and strategic planning efforts and assessing alignment of planning products with strategic guidance. 

General Funk received his commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1985. He began his career as an F-16 pilot in 1987 and has served in various staff and command positions during his career. He has commanded the 476th Fighter Group, Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, and prior to this assignment, he was the Commander, 482nd Fighter Wing, Homestead Air Reserve Base, Florida.

General Funk has deployed in support of operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Southern Watch, Desert Fox, Allied Force, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom with more than 350 combat flying hours.
