Brigadier General JEFFREY B. CASHMAN

Brigadier General Jeffrey B. Cashman is the Director of the Air National Guard Manpower, Personnel and Services staff based at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland.  In that role, General Cashman’s staff sets strategy and policy, and advocates on behalf of the 105,000 Airmen of the Air National Guard on all issues related to manpower, personnel, services, and recruiting.

In his previous assignment, Gen. Cashman was an adviser to the Air Reserve Forces Policy Committee and worked on behalf of the Secretary of the Air Force, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, and the Director of the Air National Guard to reduce legal, organizational, policy, and cultural barriers to a fully integrated multi-component Air Force.

Gen. Cashman earned his commission upon graduation from Air Force Academy in 1989. He served in the active duty Air Force as a B-52 pilot and T-37 instructor pilot at a variety of duty stations.  In 1999 General Cashman left the active duty Air Force and joined the Vermont Air National Guard, where he served as a drill status Guardsman and was an F-16 pilot and 4-ship flight lead.  Notably, on September 11th, 2001, General Cashman was one of the first Air Force pilots airborne flying an armed domestic combat air patrol in response to the terrorist attacks.

 

Gen. Cashman commanded a KC-135 operations group during the period of greatest operations tempo in the 60 year history of the KC-135, excelling in both deployed combat operations and the nuclear deterrence mission.

He is a command pilot with more than 4,000 hours of military flight time, primarily in the KC-135, T-37, B-52, F-16, and T-38.
