Brigadier General Linda S. Hurry is the Director of Expeditionary Support, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. She and her team are responsible for delivering worldwide expeditionary installation and mission support capabilities to customers at the headquarters, major command and installation levels. They support the oversight and resourcing of enterprise-wide IMS readiness, training and equipment, while also providing operational level planning and support to the warfighter through the execution of Functional Area Manager duties for all IMS capabilities and the management of operational readiness requirements on over 900 core unit type codes. Additionally, her directorate provides Airmen across the I&MS enterprise access to formal mission ready training and functional specialty training, as well as analysis of current and future agile combat support mission requirements.
Gen. Hurry received her commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in pre-law. She is a fully qualified joint staff officer who has performed duties as an aircraft maintenance officer at Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma, and the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex and as a logistics readiness officer at wing, major command and combatant command levels. She served as the Director of Operations for the 731st Air Mobility Squadron at Osan Air Base, Korea and as the Commander of the 92nd Logistics Readiness Squadron at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington, when it won the Daedalian Award for the best LRS in the Air Force and the Gerrity Award for the most effective logistics unit in the Air Force. General Hurry also served as the acting Chief of Legislative Affairs at USTRANSCOM and was responsible for the simultaneous Senate confirmation hearings for the Chief of Staff of the Air Force and the USTRANSCOM Commander. She was also selected as a Secretary of Defense Corporate Fellow and spent a year with Caterpillar, Inc. before serving as the Executive Assistant to the Commander of USTRANSCOM. Prior to this assignment, General Hurry was the Commander of the 635th Supply Chain Operations Wing at Scott AFB, Illinois.
