Air Force announces OTS selection board results Published Feb. 28, 2012 JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas (AFNS) -- An unprecedented 100 percent of enlisted active-duty members who applied for Officer Training School were accepted by the OTS Rated Selection Board 12OT01, officials here announced today. A total of 215 men and women, including 30 enlisted active duty members, from across America have earned an opportunity to become Air Force leaders following their selection for an officer commission. Air Force Recruiting Service officials considered 313 applications as part of the Officer Training School Rated Selection Board 12OT01. With the board's selection rate of 68.7 percent, 215 applicants were selected to service as pilots, combat systems officers, air battle managers or remotely piloted aircraft pilots. As part of the selection process, board members review both objective and subjective factors. Objectively, the board considers each applicant's academic discipline, grade point average and Air Force Officer Qualifying Test scores. Subjectively, board members evaluate work experience, accomplishments, adaptability, character, leadership ability, potential for future growth and other recommendations. For active-duty enlisted members, performance reports and commanders' recommendations are also evaluated. Three Air Force colonels review every application. The selection process is similar to an Air Force officer promotion board. No single factor leads to an individual's selection or non-selection, according to OTS selection officials. People selected can expect to attend Basic Officer Training at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., in later part of 2012 and into 2013. The active-duty selectees are: Tech. Sgt. Lance V. Davis Tech. Sgt.
