T-1 rolls off Keesler runway

A T-1A Jayhawk rolled off the runway here Aug. 16.

The crew was treated and released at the Keesler Medical Center. They are assigned to the 47th Flying Training Wing at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas.

The accident happened during a routine cross-country navigation-proficiency training mission.

The T-1A aircraft is a medium-range, twin-engine jet trainer used in the advanced phase of specialized undergraduate-pilot training for students selected to fly airlift or tanker aircraft.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
