AF announces consolidated squadron commander selection list

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas (AFNS) -- Air Force officials have selected nearly 500 officers from more than 20 career fields to be squadron commanders, including other command opportunities such as training, recruiting and air base squadrons.

Wing and group hiring officials used the previously published candidate lists to fill the projected squadron commander vacancies for 2017.

Typically, there are more qualified officers on the candidate lists than there are command vacancies to account for any unexpected contingencies during the year. Candidates who were not selected will remain eligible for command vacancies that open during the calendar year.

The selection list is posted to myPers. To view the list, select “Active Duty Officer” from the dropdown menu and search “Consolidated Squadron.”

For more information about Air Force personnel programs, go to the myPers website. Individuals who do not have a myPers account can request one by following the instructions on the Air Force Retirees Services website.
