Personal Profile:

Retired MSgt Kyle Burnett was medically retired from the Air Force 28 May 2013 after 14 years and 5 months of service. She started her career at Tyndall AFB, Florida, serving as an F-15 crew chief. While working with the E-8 Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (JSTARS) at Robins AFB, Georgia, MSgt Burnett deployed twice to Al Udeid AB, Qatar. She was then transferred to the 5th Combat Communications Squadron at Robins. While tasked to the unit, Burnett deployed to Afghanistan, Pakistan and Mississippi (Hurricane Katrina). In 2009, she was deployed by the National Security Agency to work out of Baghdad, Iraq, providing communication support for the intelligence community. Her job took her outside the wire to many sites throughout Iraq. In July 2009, she was injured in a rocket attack that took the lives of 3 soldiers. Although she sustained a traumatic brain injury, Burnett was able to complete her deployment. In 2011, she was deployed again to Al Udeid AB, Qatar working at the Combined Air and Space Operations Center (CAOC). Since her medical retirement, she has enrolled at the University of Alaska-Anchorage with a dual major in Biology and Psychology and hopes to become a veterinarian.
