AF selects 75 for medical squadron command

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas (AFNS) -- Air Force Personnel Center officials announced that 75 officers from five medical career fields have been selected for squadron command.

The selected officers were among 107 candidates identified earlier this year. Candidates who are not on the selection list will remain eligible for additional vacancies as they occur, said Master Sgt. Seymour Brookes, the AFPC medical accessions and personnel program manager.

Assignment bids were coordinated among the medical group and wing commanders, senior raters and command surgeons.

"Selection for squadron command is a significant milestone in an officer's career, and an achievement founded on years of preparation, training, and education," Brookes said. "Squadron command is also an opportunity to have an immediate, direct, positive impact on others' careers and futures."

To see the commander selection list, go to the Air Force Medical Service Knowledge Exchange, or visit myPers. Select "search all components" from the drop down menu and enter "CY14 Medical Squadron Commander Matches" in the search window.
