Local nationals visit family tombs at Kadena
Okinawans clear overgrown plants from the area surrounding their family tomb in preparation for Shimi at Kadena Air Base, Japan, April 12, 2015. Shimi is an annual celebration on Okinawa, during which family tombs and the surrounding areas are cleaned before extended family members gather to pray and offer food to their ancestors. More than 400 locals visited the base this year to pray, eat and enjoy each other’s company. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Marcus Morris)
